Executive Director Executive Management (CEO/COO/President) Job Description St. Bartholomew's Conservancy - The Mission and Purpose If you have ever walked or driven through Midtown Manhattan, you very likely have, unknowingly, passed by an extraordinary gift to the city, the St. Bartholomew's site on Park Avenue between 50th and 51st Street. Originally intended to be a gift to the city that would "give joy and comfort to all who pass by," it has become a "masterpiece hiding in plain sight". Reversal of the site's deterioration has begun and through the focused efforts of St. Bartholomew's Conservancy, an independent, tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation with no involvement in the religious mission of St. Bart's Church, the beauty of the building exteriors and gardens is being restored to once again position this magnificent gift to the city as a delight to all who pass by. Rich in New York history and art and architectural provenance, the St. Bartholomew's site offers a unique opportunity to help advance restoration and preservation of an outstanding aesthetic amenity with potentially broad public impact. The Role With the upcoming retirement of the current Executive Director, we are seeking a leader for the organization's next chapter. With multiple major restoration projects slated for the near future, the primary focus and impact of this role is fundraising, alongside a moderate amount of functional administrative responsibilities to keep the Conservancy running smoothly. The ideal candidate will offer significant experience that includes business community engagement and resource development. This role reports to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities will include:
Mission and Relationship Stewardship Fundraising Management Financial Leadership and Management Program Leadership Location New York, NY. Hybrid structure. Candidates must have flexibility to spend evenings and weekends at events with the goal of establishing and further developing impactful relationships and raise the profile of the Conservancy. Primary Experience Requirements Demonstrated success fundraising from corporate and commercial entities, with success defined as achieving five-figure and larger gifts. Knowledge and commitment to establishing/maintaining a diversified donor base as best practice. Minimum of 10 years of experience to include at least five (5) years in a non-profit environment, preferably with Board reporting experience. Proven experience in grant writing. Financial management skills, including budget preparation and grants management. Education and Eligibility Requirements Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
