Job Description
Executive Director Interfaith Caregivers, Inc. Olean, NY Interfaith Caregivers, Inc. is seeking a passionate, service-minded leader to serve as its next Executive Director. This on-site full-time role offers a unique opportunity to lead a respected, faith-based nonprofit that supports individuals and families through compassionate caregiving services. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the organization's overall leadership, operations, fundraising, and community presence. The ideal candidate is a strategic, mission-driven professional who thrives in a small nonprofit environment and is motivated by meaningful community impact. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Advance the organization's mission, vision, and strategic priorities in partnership with the Board of Directors Execute organizational growth strategies while ensuring long-term sustainability Support and strengthen a diverse, engaged Board and ensure alignment with bylaws and priorities Self-motivated, dependable and able to take initiative in the work environment. Fundraising & External Relations Serve as the organization's lead fundraiser, cultivating individual, foundation, and corporate donors Expand the donor base and oversee donor recognition efforts Lead grant development, major funding proposals, and fundraising events Act as the primary spokesperson and advocate for Interfaith Caregivers, Inc. Increase organizational visibility through networking, community partnerships, and media engagement Marketing & Communications Oversee marketing and communications strategies, including social media, website updates, email campaigns, and print materials Ensure the organization's mission, programs, and impact are clearly and consistently communicated Operations & Program Oversight Ensure programs operate with high quality and align with the organization's caregiving model Gradually expand service capacity in accordance with strategic goals Maintain organizational policies, procedures, and historical records Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, bylaws, and funding requirements Financial Management & Stewardship
- Provide strategic financial leadership to ensure the long-term health, stability, and sustainability of Interfaith Caregivers, Inc.
- Lead the development, management, and oversight of the annual operating budget in alignment with organizational priorities and strategic goals
- Take primary ownership of financial planning and forecasting, including fundraising revenue and expense management
- Oversee sound financial practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and nonprofit best practices
- Serve as a key partner to the Board of Directors on financial strategy, reporting, and decision-making Volunteer & Community Engagement Recruit, support, and manage a volunteer base of 20+ individuals in collaboration with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Maintain strong relationships with local congregations, community partners, and service organizations Foster a welcoming, culturally competent environment for clients, families, and volunteers Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or a minimum of five years of leadership experience in human services or a related field Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising or revenue development Experience managing volunteers and staff and working with a board of directors Strong strategic planning, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility Technical and digital competence, including marketing; social media experience is a plus Ability to travel locally and regionally (up to 25%) and work occasional evenings or weekends Experience in public health, social work, or poverty alleviation and familiarity with the local community are a plus.
Salary:
