KleinLife is one of Pennsylvania's largest and most diverse community based human service organizations, touching the lives of more than 35,000 people annually in Northeast Philadelphia. In 2025, KleinLife marked its 50 year milestone, and the organization is now searching for its next Chief Executive Officer to carry that legacy forward. KleinLife delivers programs across five areas: Children and Family Life, Healthy Life, Immigrant Life, Active Adult Life, and Community Life. Its Immigrant Welcome Center has assisted more than 1,700 Ukrainian refugees since 2022 and earned recognition from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in 2024. KleinLife is also the largest provider of senior services in the City of Philadelphia. The organization is financially strong, has operated in the black every year since 2009, and reflects a strong entrepreneurial ethos through diversified revenue including rental income from multiple tenant partners. The Opportunity Reporting to a 17 person Board of Directors, the next CEO will provide entrepreneurial leadership and will be charged with instilling a strong sense of belonging guided by Jewish values, formulating a new strategic plan with the Board and community, offering innovative programs suited to a changing Northeast Philadelphia, deepening donor and Board relationships, building on KleinLife's financial strength, strengthening internal infrastructure and operations, and promoting KleinLife externally across the Philadelphia social service landscape and with elected officials. What We're Looking For Genuine passion for and alignment with KleinLife's mission. The candidate does not need to be Jewish but must embrace Jewish values, and be mission driven and community oriented. Leadership experience from a programmatic background (early childhood, senior services, or immigration and refugee services), healthcare, or the corporate sector. Proven ability to develop, execute, and measure a strategic vision with a Board, staff, and external stakeholders. A track record recruiting, retaining, and inspiring management teams and employees. Experience with government grants and contracts, and a demonstrated history of raising gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations. Grant writing experience preferred; familiarity with the Jewish funding landscape is a plus. An entrepreneurial, innovative orientation and evidence of developing new initiatives. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with cultural sensitivity across diverse communities. Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to run a nonprofit like a business. A confident, engaging public presence. Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
