We are The Orion Fund , and we are seriously looking for an experienced Events Manager to join our Board! Like every non-profit, we are working hard fundraising for The Orion Fund. As part of that effort, we are now working on our major fundraiser for the year, our 20th charity golf tournament this fall. We would love to have your ideas, your energy and your management skills to make this one of our best fundraisers yet! We also have two additional events that are more intimate, our House Party which was small but quite successful and a Dinner in the planning. We are more than open to new ideas and new events. It is preferred that you are located in the San Francisco Bay Area and that you have some experience or interest in working with a non-profit.
About us:
The Orion Fund is a small all volunteer non-profit that provides grants to California college students in health crisis. Over the past 20 years, The Orion Fund has become a resource at 65+ college campuses statewide. Grants pay uncovered medical costs, educational, and living expenses to students in health crisis… from car crashes to cancer, we help students until they can recover.Our mission:
Education, Health, Hope. Director, Events Management (4 to 8 hours a month; additional time during events)- Work with The Orion Fund Board, our golf committee and our Director of Development to manage our golf tournament this year. Work with the board president on the tournament budget. The fundraising committee is available for assistance with event promotion.
- On site event management (the golf tournament is in Napa, CA. the end of October).
- Recommend additional events to the Board and spearhead their success.
- New ideas as a member of the Board always appreciated!
Experience:
- Enjoy working with non-profits and experience with event management for non-profits, from concept development to completion.
- Experience conveying a non-profit's core values, mission, and impact to potential event sponsors.
