Submit a cover letter and resume to Andrew@grandvalleymtb.org Position Overview Grand Valley Youth Cycling (GVYC) is seeking a mission-driven, organized, and collaborative Executive Director to lead the organization's day-to-day operations and advance its mission of providing high-quality mountain bike programming for youth. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides organizational leadership, oversees finances and administration, supports coaching staff, manages fundraising and community partnerships, and ensures the successful operation of GVYC programs. Because GVYC's activities are seasonal, the workload varies throughout the year. This position is primarily remote with regular virtual collaboration, monthly Board meetings, and attendance at races, events, fundraising activities, and community meetings as needed. Provides oversight of the Program Coordinator. Key Responsibilities Organizational Leadership Lead the day-to-day operations of GVYC in partnership with the Board of Directors. Implement the organization's mission, strategic priorities, policies, and annual goals. Attend Board meetings, assist with meeting preparation, and support Board development and governance. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, insurance, permits, and applicable legal requirements. Financial & Administrative Management Drafts the annual budget for board refinement and adoption. Communicates expenditures to the bookkeeper and retains receipts and records. Coordinate human resources functions, including employment documentation and regulatory compliance. Manages rider registration, organizational records, merchandise sales, and other administrative operations. Staff & Program Leadership Supervise and support coaching staff and administrative personnel. Oversee coach recruitment, onboarding, training, and evaluations. Oversee seasonal program operations, scheduling, and event logistics. Support effective communication and conflict resolution among coaches, participants, and families. Fundraising & Community Engagement Develop and manage sponsorships, grants, fundraising initiatives, and donor relationships. Build and maintain partnerships with schools, government agencies, cycling organizations, local businesses, and community partners. Represent GVYC through public outreach, advocacy, and community engagement. Communications Oversee organizational communications, including the website, social media, newsletters, and parent communications. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholder inquiries not resolved through coaching staff. Foster positive relationships with volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community partners through consistent communication and appreciation. Other Duties Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Board of Directors in support of GVYC's mission and strategic objectives. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, education, recreation, or a related field preferred. Three or more years of leadership, nonprofit management, program administration, or comparable experience preferred. Experience with budgeting, fundraising, grant management, and staff supervision preferred. Familiarity with youth sports, outdoor recreation, or cycling is desirable. Skills & Attributes Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively with a volunteer Board. Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Experience with WordPress websites High integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and a passion for youth development. Other Requirements Successful completion of a background check. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for programs and events. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
