Job Description

Position Title:

Executive Director Hours per

Week:

30 hours per week; some evening / weekend activities Reports to: AHA!

Board of Directors Salary:

$35 - $40 / hour commensurate with experience

Job Summary:

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of the organization. They will plan, develop and implement housing activities to support the operation of the properties currently owned, and future properties developed, by AHA!. The Executive Director will supervise staff and find resources to support the operation of AHA!

Specific responsibilities include:

Prioritizes seeking operational and development financing through grants, State and Local housing programs, individual or corporate donations, and fundraisers. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with foundations, donors and other benefactors of the organization to assure ongoing support of the organization and its mission. Assures the financial viability of the organization through budgeting, fundraising and resource development. Seeks opportunities to implement new housing opportunities and strategic partnerships. Manages project development to assure effective acquisition, preservation, and production of affordable, accessible, integrated housing. Manages property staff to assure the health and safety of residents and the protection of the company's affordable housing assets. Oversees all aspects of human resource management including but not limited to hiring, supervision, and termination, developing position descriptions, setting compensation, and communication with employees. Maintains excellent working relationship with Board of Directors, including monthly meetings, written board reports, and facilitating committee meetings. Represents AHA! at meetings, public events, and acts as the media point of contact. Manages accounting procedures to assure timely completion of financial reports for internal use, grant reporting purposes, and audits. Submit, renew or supplement all applications, licenses, permits and forms necessary or appropriate for the conduct for AHA! operations. Reporting activities and other duties as assigned.

AHA! is a dynamic, Austin-based nonprofit community housing development organization founded in 2005 with the mission to create affordable, accessible, integrated housing opportunities in Central Texas. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and creative leader to work with a strong team to create positive change in our community. The ideal candidate will be experienced with leading a fast-paced department or organization, preferably a nonprofit. They will also have experience developing and expanding service programs. A familiarity with property management or City and State financed affordable housing programs is strongly encouraged. Experience with disability rights is encouraged. Pay:
