Clinical Operations Officer - MD/DO, APRN, or PA Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine Lakeland, Florida | Full-time, salaried
Salary:
$125,000-$150,000 annually, plus benefits Anticipated start date: January 2027
Clinic Schedule Monday-Thursday:
7:45 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Friday:
7:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m., with occasional exceptions for staff meetings Occasional Saturday mornings About Lakeland Volunteers In Medicine Since opening in 2001, Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM) has empowered medically underserved Polk County residents to live healthier lives by providing access to free, high-quality, comprehensive healthcare through a community of caring volunteers. In 2025, LVIM served more than 3,000 eligible patients and delivered approximately $11.7 million in free healthcare. LVIM created the Clinical Operations Officer position to strengthen day-to-day clinical leadership and provide continuity for clinical staff, volunteers, and providers. The successful candidate will join an established clinical operation while helping define how this new role can best support the present and future needs of patients and clinical volunteers. Reporting to the Medical Director and President & CEO, you'll serve as a key member of LVIM's leadership team, strengthening and advancing existing clinical operations. What You'll Lead Lead daily clinical operations and supervise the Clinic Manager and staff APRNs. Help develop and remain accountable for clinical policies, standards of care, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement. Oversee provider services, coverage, onboarding, medical-record quality, patient concerns, and clinical quality reporting. Develop and standardize training for clinical service volunteers and guide volunteer and staff providers. Collaborate on quality assurance, operational planning, budgeting, provider recruitment, and referral partnerships. Precept NP, PA, and undergraduate nursing students and provide primary care as needed. What You'll Bring Graduation from an accredited medical, advanced practice nursing, or physician assistant program. Current, unrestricted Florida licensure as an MD, DO, APRN, or PA, with prescribing privileges. Board or national certification in the applicable specialty. At least five years of primary care practice, with experience leading clinical operations, teams, workflows, or quality initiatives. EMR proficiency, sound judgment, adaptability, strong communication, and commitment to compassionate care. This position will remain open until the right candidate is identified. Initial interviews are expected to begin in October 2026. Final salary will be based on the selected candidate's skills, expertise, and experience.
Pay:
$125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
