Finance & Investment Operations Analyst Location:
New Haven, CT (Hybrid)
Compensation:
$80-90k +/- depending on experience (plus significant bonus potential) About the Opportunity Our client is seeking a Finance & Investment Operations Analyst to support the day-to-day operational, accounting, and compliance activities of a sophisticated investment office. This position offers exposure to investment operations, fund administration, compliance monitoring, and performance reporting within a highly collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to build a career within investment operations, finance, or asset management. Responsibilities Investment Operations & Finance Record and review investment-related transactions within internal systems. Monitor account reconciliations prepared by third-party fund administrators and investigate discrepancies. Review wire transfer requests for completeness and accuracy. Track capital calls, distributions, and manager reporting to ensure records remain current and complete. Assist with year-end audit requests and financial close activities. Support the onboarding and execution of new investment opportunities. Prepare ad hoc analyses and reporting as requested. Help maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard investment assets. Compliance & Documentation Maintain investment and compliance documentation, including subscription agreements, side letters, partnership agreements, and investment management contracts. Track regulatory filing requirements and assist with filing preparation. Support operational due diligence efforts by collecting and organizing manager documentation. Assist with monitoring investment approvals, policy exceptions, and conflict-of-interest disclosures. Coordinate document execution and filing processes. Support KYC and AML documentation for investment managers and counterparties. Assist with internal audit requests and regulatory examinations. Performance Reporting Support Provide backup support for periodic investment performance reporting. Assist with performance data validation and reconciliations. Maintain benchmark, peer group, and reporting data within performance measurement systems. Support preparation of materials for senior leadership and investment committees. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Internship experience or up to 1 year of experience in finance, accounting, operations, compliance, fund administration, or a related area preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Demonstrated professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information. Interest in investment management, private equity, hedge funds, or other alternative investments is a plus. Experience with portfolio accounting, investment operations, or performance reporting systems is a plus.
