This is more than a technical writing role. This individual will work directly with leadership, managers, and employees to discover how work is performed, identify best practices, standardize processes, and turn operational knowledge into clear SOPs, workflows, checklists, and training resources. The goal is to build a sustainable Family PowerSports Operating System that improves consistency, onboarding, training, accountability, and knowledge retention. Key Responsibilities Interview and observe employees and managers to understand current processes and capture tribal knowledge. Identify process gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement across departments and locations. Partner with leadership to identify and standardize operational best practices. Develop SOPs, workflows, checklists, forms, job aids, and process documentation. Build and organize a centralized company process library. Translate documented processes into onboarding and role-specific training resources. Prepare processes for future conversion into short-form digital and video training. Establish standards for document ownership, updates, version control, and ongoing maintenance. Project Management Develop and manage a 12-18 month project roadmap with defined milestones, priorities, and deliverables. Prioritize projects based on operational impact, risk, training needs, employee turnover, and leadership priorities. Coordinate with departments and dealership locations to keep projects moving forward. Track completed, in-progress, and outstanding processes and deliverables. Provide regular progress updates, findings, and recommendations to executive leadership. Drive accountability for project deadlines and follow-up with key stakeholders. Establish a sustainable process for maintaining and updating documentation after the initial project is completed. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in process improvement, process documentation, operational excellence, Learning & Development, knowledge management, or a similar role preferred. Experience developing SOPs, workflows, process maps, and training materials. Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar business processes and ask the right questions. Strong written communication, interviewing, and facilitation skills. Experience working across multiple departments or locations preferred. Retail, dealership, automotive, powersports, RV, or similar operational experience is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, or related field preferred. What Success Looks Like The right candidate will do more than document how things are currently done. They will identify what works best, help standardize it, and turn it into processes and training employees can consistently follow. Success will be measured through established project milestones, completion and adoption of critical processes, development of role-based training resources, and creation of a sustainable system Family PowerSports can maintain long term. This position is primarily based in Lubbock, Texas and may require periodic travel to other Family PowerSports locations.
