Position Summary California Dinner Entertainment, LLC, dba Pirates Dinner Adventure, is seeking a qualified and experienced Director of Cash Operations to oversee the company's cash operations, financial controls, cash-handling procedures, scheduling, and timekeeping processes. The Director of Cash Operations will provide leadership and oversight of the Cash Control Department, including supervision of the Cash Control Manager, ensuring that cash-handling procedures, reconciliations, deposits, internal controls, timekeeping, and scheduling practices are consistently maintained. This position is responsible for establishing accountability, improving operational efficiency, identifying financial discrepancies, supporting accurate staffing records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable requirements. The Director of Cash Operations will work closely with the General Manager, Accounting, Human Resources, and other department managers to maintain the integrity, accuracy, security, and efficiency of the company's cash operations and workforce administration. ssential Duties and Responsibilities Department Leadership and Oversight Provide overall leadership, direction, and supervision of the Cash Control Department. Directly supervise and evaluate the Cash Control Manager. Establish departmental goals, performance expectations, and accountability standards. Ensure that the Cash Control Manager effectively manages daily departmental operations. Develop, implement, and maintain cash-handling policies and procedures. Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities for operational improvements. Ensure adequate staffing, training, and coverage within the Cash Control Department. Coordinate departmental schedules to support business needs and maintain appropriate coverage. Review staffing levels, shift assignments, and schedule changes for accuracy and operational effectiveness. Cash Management and Financial Controls Oversee daily cash-handling operations, including cash counts, reconciliations, deposits, and reporting. Ensure that cash receipts, credit card settlements, and other payment transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company funds and assets. Review cash discrepancies, shortages, overages, and unusual transactions and ensure appropriate follow-up. Ensure that cash deposits are accurate, timely, and properly documented. Monitor compliance with established cash-handling procedures and financial controls. Identify potential risks and recommend corrective measures to prevent errors, losses, and irregularities. Timekeeping and Scheduling Administration Oversee accurate and timely timekeeping processes for the Cash Control Department and designated personnel. Review time records for completeness, accuracy, missed punches, unauthorized overtime, schedule variances, and other discrepancies. Ensure that timekeeping records are submitted and approved in accordance with company deadlines and policies. Coordinate with Human Resources, Payroll, and department managers to resolve timekeeping issues promptly. Monitor employee schedules, attendance, breaks, shift changes, and coverage requirements. Ensure that scheduling and timekeeping practices comply with company policies and applicable wage-and-hour requirements. Maintain appropriate documentation for schedule changes, attendance issues, time corrections, and approvals. Train and support managers and employees regarding scheduling expectations, timekeeping procedures, and reporting requirements. Protect the confidentiality and security of employee timekeeping and scheduling information. Reporting and Accounting Coordination Work closely with the Accounting Department to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting. Review cash reconciliation reports, deposit records, and supporting documentation. Investigate significant discrepancies and ensure that appropriate documentation and corrective actions are completed. Assist with internal and external audits involving cash operations. Prepare and present cash operations reports and updates to the General Manager. Maintain accurate records and ensure that all required financial and timekeeping documentation is properly retained. Provide scheduling, attendance, and timekeeping reports to management, Human Resources, and Payroll as needed. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, timekeeping requirements, and applicable laws and regulations. Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding company financial, employee, scheduling, and payroll information. Monitor adherence to cash security procedures and access controls. Review departmental procedures regularly and recommend improvements. Ensure that discrepancies, policy violations, timekeeping concerns, and potential losses are promptly reported and addressed. Coordinate with management on investigations involving cash discrepancies, suspected financial misconduct, attendance concerns, or timekeeping irregularities. Communication and Collaboration Collaborate with the General Manager, Accounting Department, Human Resources, Payroll, and department managers on financial and operational matters. Communicate expectations, procedures, schedule requirements, and policy changes to the Cash Control Manager. Work with department managers to address cash-handling, staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping concerns. Provide management with recommendations regarding cash operations, internal controls, staffing coverage, timekeeping accuracy, and risk reduction. Promote clear communication and accountability across departments. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in cash management, financial operations, accounting, workforce administration, or a related field. Previous management or supervisory experience required. Experience overseeing cash reconciliation, deposits, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing employee schedules, timekeeping records, attendance tracking, or payroll-related processes. Strong knowledge of cash-handling procedures, financial accountability, scheduling practices, and timekeeping controls. Experience developing and implementing policies and operational procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial, accounting, scheduling, or timekeeping software. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced entertainment and hospitality environment. Knowledge of applicable wage-and-hour and recordkeeping requirements preferred.
