The AHD family of wholesale brands includes Made Goods (flagship furniture made from unique materials), Pigeon & Poodle (home and bath accessories), Blue Pheasant (handcrafted tabletop products) and Burton James (luxury seating home furnishing). About the Position The Director of Warehouse Operations is a hands-on, operations-focused leader responsible for the overall performance and execution of warehouse and distribution operations. This role provides leadership across Receiving, Shipping, Quality Control, and Repairs with a strong focus on operational execution, employee development, KPI performance, process improvement, and delivering a world-class experience for our customers. This leader will oversee the day-to-day warehouse operation while developing the people, processes, and procedures necessary to support AHD's continued growth. The Director will establish clear performance expectations, drive accountability through measurable KPIs, develop and maintain SOPs, and use data and warehouse systems to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, accuracy, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate is a highly visible and hands-on leader who enjoys being on the warehouse floor and engaging directly with supervisors, leads, and associates. This individual will be a strong tactical leader, skilled executor, and cultural ambassador who can build strong teams, develop warehouse leadership, improve processes, and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Position Responsibilities Provide strategic and tactical leadership for daily warehouse and distribution operations, including Receiving, Shipping, Quality Control, Repairs, and related warehouse functions Oversee processes to ensure consistent execution, accuracy, quality, and service Reinforce company safety standards and expectations within warehouse operations and partner with the appropriate teams on training, incidents, and compliance Train teams on warehouse processes, validate proficiency, establish clear performance expectations, and actively engage employees in coaching, development, and career-pathing activities Develop, standardize, and enforce SOPs across warehouse functions to improve consistency, scalability, safety, and operational discipline Manage warehouse staffing, scheduling, productivity, and overtime performance in support of daily operational needs Manage warehouse KPIs and operating metrics, including shipping accuracy, on-time shipment, inventory accuracy, labor cost and overtime, internal damage, packaging expense, productivity, and safety performance; analyze trends and implement corrective actions Lead cost-improvement and continuous improvement initiatives focused on workflow, space utilization, throughput, packaging optimization, internal damage reduction, quality, efficiency, and operating expense Develop best practices utilizing systems and processes; become highly proficient in the company ERP, WMS, and TMS to improve operating efficiencies, accuracy, workflow, and reporting Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Service, Operations, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, and other departments to resolve warehouse-related issues and support business needs Hire, retain, coach, develop, and hold accountable warehouse supervisors, leads, and associates; build leadership capability, career paths, and succession plans across the operation Maintain a consistent leadership presence on the warehouse floor, proactively identifying barriers, reinforcing standards, and engaging directly with employees Partner with senior leadership on warehouse priorities, resource needs, operational challenges, and initiatives supporting company growth KPIs & Performance Focus Receiving / Dock-to-Stock Performance On time shipment Safety and Compliance Internal Damage Rate & Packaging Optimization Productivity and Performance Metrics Overall Efficiency and Improvement Packaging Materials & Operational Cost Management Labor Productivity and Overtime Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Accuracy What we can do for you: Play a pivotal role in our company's transformation and growth Align with a growing company that operates in the luxury market Provide training and career development opportunities Enjoy a high-paced and collaborative work environment Eligible for up to a 6% employer 401(k) contribution following six months of employment Take advantage of paid time off away from work, including scheduled company holidays Participate in competitive benefits and incentivizing programs Team building company sponsored events Employee discount and bi-annual sample sale
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred in supply chain, logistics, or business is highly preferred 7+ years of progressive warehouse or distribution operations experience, including experience at the Senior Manager or Director level with significant people leadership responsibility Demonstrated experience leading supervisors and frontline teams, building accountability, coaching leaders, and developing high-performing teams Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the ability to translate data into operational actions Experience using ERP/WMS systems; TMS experience preferred Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, change-management, and cross-functional leadership skills Bilingual Spanish required Demonstrated success improving operational processes, productivity, quality, service levels, and cost performance Strong knowledge of receiving, shipping, returns, quality control, packaging optimization, warehouse productivity, employee development, SOPs, and warehouse performance metrics

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting. Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions. Required to use stairwells to attend meetings and engage with employees on multiple floors throughout building.
