This is a senior leadership role with direct impact on how we deploy technicians, execute commercial plumbing work, and scale our operations across the Long Beach market. As Director of Field Operations, you will own the day-to-day execution of field activity, drive performance standards, and work hand-in-hand with company leadership to build the systems and culture that allow us to grow without sacrificing quality. Duties Direct and oversee all daily field operations across multiple crews, job sites, and service locations. Own technician deployment ensuring dispatch is optimized by job scope, urgency, skill set, and geographic efficiency. Set and enforce performance standards for time-on-site, job completion, quality of work, and customer interaction. Monitor job progress to ensure work aligns with approved scope, NTEs, and company expectations. Create and review detailed estimates and proposals for commercial plumbing service, repair, and small-to-mid-sized projects. Prepare revisions and supplemental estimates when field conditions or scope changes occur. Lead recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing development of field technicians and crew leads. Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce callbacks. Collaborate with senior leadership on growth strategy, market expansion, and operational infrastructure. Serve as the escalation point for complex field issues, customer concerns, and crew conflicts. Ensure full compliance with safety protocols, licensing requirements, and California labor regulations. Develop and track key operational KPIs (i.e. response times, completion rates, technician utilization, and customer satisfaction). Skills 10+ years of experience in commercial plumbing, with at least 3-5 years in a senior field leadership or operations management role. Deep hands-on knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, service repair, and project execution. Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop field technicians in a fast-paced, multi-crew environment. Demonstrated experience creating estimates in a service or time & material environment. Strong strategic and analytical thinking; able to identify problems, build solutions, and execute with discipline. Experience with dispatch, scheduling, and field operations software. Excellent communication skills; comfortable interfacing with technicians, customers, subcontractors, and senior leadership. Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
