Job Description

The Assistant Manager has the responsibility to operate at the highest standards in the industry on a daily basis. Many job functions described may not necessarily be performed by the manager but delegated to other employees. The ultimate responsibility will be that of the general manager who will oversee that all tasks are carried out accurately, efficiently and effectively. Duties for the Assistant Manager will include allocating budget resources, coordinating business operations, monitoring and motivating staff, managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving administration processes, engaging with vendors, hiring and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities. The Assistant General Manager's job includes, but not limited to: Human Resources
  • Plan and monitor the interviewing, hiring and training process for all employees following GEC, Inc. hiring and training guidelines; including but not limited to ensuring the completeness of employment documents, drug screening, background checks where required by job class, copies of special licenses and certifications, and issuing badges.
  • Execute a program in which employee skill levels are maintained with scheduled in-service meetings for all employees and supervisors on a bi-weekly basis
  • Execute a program which is pro-active in creating a safe environment for all employees, quickly responds to employee injuries, and will monitor their speedy return to work.
  • Hire, train, and maintain department management staffing that fulfills GEC Incorporated's business plans.
  • Execute a program to motivate and discipline employees in a fair and positive manner.
  • The Assistant Manager must be "hands-on" in training staff. Customer Service
  • Encourage and reward a customer service-driven employee culture.
  • Strive for quality presentation of the facility.
  • Maintain facility in good repair, and in a clean, organized, well-kept fashion.
  • Uphold GEC Inc's policies of employee dress code and grooming.
  • Maintain a program for customer service training, evaluation, and reward for employees. Safety
  • Plan, execute, and maintain a safety program that is implemented in all departments and in general operations to include employees, guests, and the physical facility.
  • Ensure that all daily safety inspections and work orders are completed and accurate.
  • Maintain signage and park operation protocols. Receive approval from corporate office before changing such protocols.
  • Maintain facility assets with preventive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain SDS sheets in the "Right to Know" station located in each area where chemicals are stored and in the main office
  • Uphold OSHA, DOSH, Health Department, insurance company, local, state, and federal policies and laws in business operations. Assets and Inventory
  • Maintain inventory programs for all supplies and assets for loss prevention including purchase order protocols.
  • Plan, execute and maintain a program to budget for labor, supply costs, projected maintenance and equipment needs on at least an annual basis.
  • Coordinate start-up for upcoming season with regard to equipment, buildings, ordering etc.
  • Maintain inventory of all assets by tracking the distribution (issuing) and audit the inventory for any losses including uniforms, communication equipment, food preparation equipment, product inventory, etc. Documenting and Reporting
  • Monitor effectiveness of labor and track against budget.
  • Execute a program to track and maintain information for all special and scheduled events.
  • Execute a program to maintain, review and audit administrative paperwork for daily sales, ordering, equipment procurement, inventory, waste, daily operations, and labor.
  • Maintain reporting programs to be consistent with corporate requirements.
  • Maintain incident and rescue reporting. Report on a weekly basis to corporate office.
  • Timely and accurate State, Federal, Insurance Requirement Reporting. Operations
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of facility operation. (Know how to do all jobs)
  • Maintain and encourage good business practices and ethics throughout company
  • Plan, execute, and maintain an Emergency Action Plan and include as part of employee orientations and in-services. General
  • Enforce all GEC, Inc. policies. Endeavor to achieve the principals set by the mission statement: "Clean, Green, Lean, Fun and Safe".
  • Be able to utilize a computer and have the aptitude to learn new software programs.
  • Complete tasks and fulfill responsibilities as designated by the Vice-President of Operations.
  • Accurate personal productivity and attendance is required.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all time and attendance policies.
  • Managers and sales staff will be required to use company owned phones and or company owned Android cell phones during all working hours.
  • Productivity measurement tools are required to be used, including, but not limited to checklists, project lists, goals, call logs and KPI (key performance indicators) reports.
  • Maintain established best practices including but not limited to daily time and attendance, scheduling, cashiering, dress code and grooming standards.
  • Daily review/research of operations reporting/action items including but not limited to revenue, cashier, time clock, scheduling and manager's journal.
Qualifications Proven experience in inventory management and retail sales Strong supervisory and team management skills Proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations Excellent customer service and communication abilities Familiarity with purchasing and bookkeeping practices Ability to negotiate and conduct employee interviews Time management and organizational skills Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus
