Full-Time | On-Site The Opportunity A large, nonprofit integrated health system is seeking an experienced Director of Infusion Services to provide system-wide leadership for infusion operations across a diverse network of hospitals, outpatient clinics, and alternative sites of care. This is a high-visibility leadership position based at the organization's corporate campus in the Greater Sacramento area. The Director will lead the strategic, financial, and operational performance of infusion services across the health system. This role provides end-to-end business leadership for infusion therapy, including hospital outpatient departments, freestanding infusion centers, physician-based clinics, and alternative sites of care. The Director serves as the primary business leader for infusion financial performance, growth strategy, and regulatory compliance while partnering closely with pharmacy, nursing, finance, revenue cycle, contracting, compliance, and clinical leadership. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a system-wide infusion services strategy aligned with organizational growth, patient access, and financial objectives. Lead site-of-care optimization initiatives while balancing clinical appropriateness, payer requirements, patient experience, and financial performance. Evaluate and implement new infusion service models, network expansion opportunities, and strategic partnerships, including home infusion and joint ventures. Oversee infusion services profit and loss (P&L), including revenue, margin, and expense management. Identify and address opportunities related to drug acquisition, waste reduction, reimbursement optimization, charge capture, and denial prevention. Partner with pharmacy leadership to optimize drug purchasing, contracting, and inventory management. Develop business cases supporting new therapies, indications, and service line expansion. Collaborate with managed care and contracting teams to optimize reimbursement, address buy-and-bill challenges, and respond proactively to payer policy changes. Serve as the primary business liaison across pharmacy, nursing, finance, revenue cycle, information technology, compliance, and operational leadership. Standardize infusion performance metrics, dashboards, and system-wide reporting. Improve scheduling, capacity utilization, throughput, and staffing efficiency in collaboration with operational and clinical leaders. Ensure compliance with 340B program requirements, CMS regulations, commercial payer billing requirements, and applicable documentation and audit standards. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to infusion volume, financial performance, denials, drug waste, and operational capacity. Present strategic initiatives and operational performance updates to executive leadership. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Pharmacy, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, pharmacy, infusion services, or revenue cycle. Demonstrated experience managing high-cost drug service lines, including infusion services, specialty pharmacy, oncology, or biologics. Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience. Preferred Credentials Professional certification or advanced credentials such as PharmD, CPA, PMP, or equivalent preferred. Compensation & Benefits Estimated annual base salary: $139,004 - $208,505 .
