Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a Division Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and profitable day-to-day operations of a retail propane distribution and terminal division.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of propane or gas distribution industry experience, along with management or supervisory experience. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for operations, safety, regulatory compliance, customer service, employees, fleet, and financial performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily retail propane distribution and terminal operations.
Oversee division P&L, expenses, profitability, and operational performance.
Review division reports and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT and propane safety requirements.
Ensure proper maintenance and repair of the division fleet and equipment.
Lead, train, and develop division employees.
Maintain high customer service standards.
Support sales efforts and help grow the customer base through sustainable business development.
Assist with accounts receivable and customer collections.
Review daily work for accuracy, documentation, and compliance.
Implement operational strategies.
Use company software and reporting tools to improve operational efficiency.
Required QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in the propane gas or gas distribution industry.
Prior management or supervisory experience.
Strong understanding of retail propane operations.
Commercial Class B driver's license with required endorsements.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of DOT, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Experience with propane distribution, service, or terminal operations.
Preferred ExperiencePropane industry training or certifications, including CETP or similar training.
Rail terminal operations experience.
Appliance repair or installation experience.
Fleet, equipment, or mechanical experience.
Experience managing operational budgets and P&L.Soft SkillsHands-on leadership style.
Strong communication and organization.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making.
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
