The Operations Manager is responsible for driving department performance, improving productivity and profitability, supporting field leaders, maintaining high standards for customer service and workmanship, and ensuring teams operate safely and efficiently. This position works closely with department managers and company leadership to identify operational issues, implement solutions, and hold teams accountable to company goals and standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee daily operations across Call Center, Warehouse, HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical service and installation departments. Lead and support all departmental operations to ensure departments meet revenue, productivity, quality, customer service, & employee retention goals. Manage and hold department managers, field supervisors, technicians, installers, and support teams accountable to company expectations and performance standards. Monitor key operational metrics including budgeted revenue, labor efficiency, callbacks, warranty work, customer satisfaction, and department profitability. Review department performance regularly and develop action plans when goals, productivity, or quality standards are not being met. Improve scheduling, dispatching, technician utilization, job flow, and communication between office and field teams. Work with field leaders to ensure service calls and installations are completed correctly, efficiently, safely, and according to company standards. Support training, coaching, performance management, and development of field and operations employees. Partner with leadership to develop and maintain department budgets, staffing plans, revenue goals, and operational targets. Help manage labor, materials, equipment, inventory, fleet, and other operational costs to protect department profitability. Ensure HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical operations follow applicable codes, licensing requirements, safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and company policies. Address escalated customer concerns, problem jobs, callbacks, and operational issues and ensure they are followed through to resolution. Provide company leadership with regular updates on department performance, staffing needs, operational challenges, and recommended solutions. Qualifications Experience managing HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical operations in a residential home services company; strong HVAC, Plumbing, & Electrical knowledge is required. Proven operations leadership experience with responsibility for multiple departments, managers, and field teams. Experience working in a multi-trade home services environment that includes HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical is strongly required. Ability to read and understand operational and financial reports, identify performance gaps, and develop plans to improve results. Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to set expectations, hold employees accountable, and develop managers and field leaders. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with field employees, office teams, customers, and company leadership. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of operational issues through resolution. Strong commitment to employee retention, customer service, quality workmanship, safety, accountability, and profitable growth.
