Our flex-fuel reforming technology enables the use of ammonia and other low-carbon fuels in existing engines, providing ship operators with a practical, near-term path to reduce emissions while maintaining fuel flexibility. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with a European office in Bergen, Norway, Blaze is a fast-moving team focused on delivering technologies that maximize the positive impact of low-carbon fuels across environment, equity, and economics. We are expanding our team to bring our product to market. The Role We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our research and prototype facility in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. This manager-level role spans purchasing, vendor management, facilities operations, administrative systems, and HR coordination. In addition, you will help drive company priorities, manage cross-functional initiatives, and ensure alignment across the organization as we scale. Reporting to the COO and partnering closely with the CTO and engineering team, you will play a central role in helping Blaze execute efficiently and grow successfully. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Key Responsibilities Run daily facility operations (equipment, vendors, logistics) Own purchasing and supplier coordination Develop and maintain close relationships and agreements with vendors, which will require domestic and international travel Work closely with the CTO and engineering team on mechanical, chemical, and maritime equipment supply and support prototype delivery to global locations Build and maintain administrative systems Solve operational issues and support the full team Identify risks, bottlenecks, and misalignment early and proactively address them Step into high-priority projects as needed Support hiring, onboarding, and HR coordination What We're Looking For 5+ years relevant experience Strong generalist with ability to wear multiple hats Highly organized and detail-oriented Proactive and resourceful; anticipates needs and takes ownership Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10-20% of the time
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Have:
Experience working directly with founders or senior executives Strong ability to operate as a trusted partner and thought partner to leadership Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, energy, industrial, or hardware development environments is highly preferred Work Environment On-site in Wheat Ridge, CO with a ~10-person team developing and building prototypes. Occasional travel to vendors and partners. Requirements Must be authorized to work in the United States. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $90,000 - $140,000 per year

ISOs, 4-year vesting with 1-year cliff 401(k): up to 4% match
