Job Description

  • Job Title:
Business Operations Consultant / Executive Business Partner
  • The Mission:
  • I oversee a portfolio of diverse companies and need a sharp, "MacGyver-minded" right hand to help manage the engine. This is not a traditional "assistant" role; it is a high-level partnership for someone who is exceptionally logical, fiercely independent, and capable of pivoting from financial oversight to legal drafting without losing momentum.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Oversight:
  • Field inquiries, manage correspondence, and coordinate tasks across multiple small businesses to ensure no projects stall.
  • Financial & Stakeholder Management:
  • Interface with bankers and investors. You will ensure they have the data and documentation they need to make decisions.
  • Legal & Bookkeeping Support:
  • Draft contracts and letters; oversee accounts payable and receivable. (A background as a paralegal with bookkeeping skills is a significant advantage).
  • The "Backlog Killer":
  • Maintain a proactive approach to our task list. When there is slack, you are the person who dives into the "someday" projects to get them across the finish line.
  • The Ideal Profile:
  • Independent & Perceptive:
  • You don't need a manual. You see a gap and fill it. You have "Nordstrom-level" class and a serious, goal-oriented mindset.
  • Unfiltered & Resilient:
  • I have an informal, family-style business culture and an occasional "potty mouth." You must have thick skin, a great sense of humor, and the courage to give me the news straight—good or bad.
  • Ethical & Private:
  • This role handles personal and business matters. High discretion is mandatory. An NDA, Non-Compete, and Non-Disclosure agreement are part of the deal.
  • "Up-Person"
Energy:
  • You are charming and professional, but you have clear boundaries and a "spike the ball" mentality when we win.
  • Structure & Compensation:
  • Location:
  • Based in our dog-friendly office. This is not a remote role, though occasional work-from-home flexibility exists once we have established our rhythm.
  • Engagement:
  • Preference for a
  • 1099/Independent Contractor
  • relationship. I am highly supportive of you incorporating as your own business entity to streamline this partnership.
  • The Upside:
  • I pay a competitive market wage plus performance-based bonuses. As I do better, you do better. I honor family priorities and value long-term loyalty over "trying it out."
  • Requirements:
  • Strong logical skills (Degree preferred, but "street smarts" and logic win).
  • Excellent personal grooming/presentation.
  • A "non-quitter" attitude for the long haul.
