Job Description
Do you have fabulous customer service skills? Want to be told daily what a difference you're making in the lives of senior citizens? Want to work with some of the most compassionate volunteers you'll ever meet? If the answer is yes, then our Operations Manager position may be a good fit for you. The Operations Manager at Connections to Care uses exceptional customer service skills to manage our 100+ volunteer drivers and interface with our clients (average age 85) to schedule rides for their upcoming doctors' visits using our RideScheduler software program. We average about 50-60 rides per week. Additionally, this position is responsible for training new drivers, administering background checks, completing administrative tasks, writing newsletters and planning and managing several annual volunteer thank you and senior-oriented events. A Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree with a combination of experience is strongly preferred. Previous experience in customer service, working with volunteers, senior citizens and non-profits is strongly preferred. Our office is very small (2 employees), so a positive, "can do" demeanor is crucial to succeeding in the job. Patience and meticulous attention to detail are required as is the ability to operate independently and learn new things quickly. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required since this position will be creating regular newsletters for our volunteers and clients. This position is expected to average 25 hours per week, with the possibility of more hours during certain seasonally busy times. Our office is located in the Arlington Heights Senior Center and is open from 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM M-F. The hours are somewhat flexible but must be coordinated with the Director to ensure coverage during our stated office hours. To be considered for the position, you MUST include a cover letter highlighting your fit with the position and examples of your experience in customer service and with seniors, volunteers, creating newsletters, and your attention to detail. No phone calls please! Visit our website connectionstocare.org for more information about us. Please send resume with cover letter to info@connectionstocare.org
