OPERATIONS MANAGER, FIELD OPERATIONS

You'll sit at the center of operations, working across sales, production, and finance to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Our client a premier landscaping and lawn care company, is seeking their next management team member, an Operations Manager, Field Operations .

Bonus Structure:

Total Compensation Potential:
Up to $135,000 + 401k with 4% match Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Company Vehicle for use during the business day A little bit about this position: This role will own day-to-day field operations and crew performance across lawn maintenance, landscaping, fertilization, and snow. The role will drive quality, efficiency, scheduling performance, safety, and profitability through strong dispatching, leadership, and operational standards. What You'll Be Doing Dispatching, routing, and scheduling, Snow operations Quality control and training Job costing and weekly numbers Field leadership and HR Coordination Escalated customer issue resolution and commercial bidding support Shop and equipment readiness Safety and compliance Valid driver's license and ability to be insured on company policy This Role Is For You If You like structure, systems, and organized data You're detail-oriented and naturally catch mistakes You follow through and don't need to be reminded You can manage multiple moving parts without getting overwhelmed You're comfortable working across teams and keeping things aligned This Role Is NOT For You If You need constant direction or supervision You struggle with organization or prioritization You avoid accountability or difficult conversations You get overwhelmed in a fast-moving environment
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Associate degree or equivalent education plus work experience Five (5) years of experience in operations management in the green industry (lawn care or landscaping) required Experience doing lawn care and landscaping work in the field Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel High Energy and dynamic personality Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills Proven ability to find and implement solutions for inefficiencies within a company Proficient in technology, team management, verbal and written communication Collaboration experience but comfortable working alone or without supervision Ability to understand landscaping drawings Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials as needed Understanding of business financial concepts, such as Gross Sales, Margins and Markups, Job Costing, Expenses Control, COGS, and Profit and Loss Knowledge of Quality control and inventory control Experience in Hiring, Training, and Scheduling Demonstrated Problem Solving/Analysis skills Excellent Customer Service and Client Focus Strong logistical skills Ability to maintain composure and keep a positive attitude Demonstrated conflict resolution skills Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to work flexible working hours, including Saturday work, if necessary, and longer work weeks during the busy season Required attendance during snow and ice events Valid Driver's license and insurable on a company policy English—fluency in reading, writing, and speaking is required Be able to perform physical work if necessary such as lifting, bending, stretching, reaching, standing for long periods, sitting for long periods, speak, read, write, type, hear, etc. while performing work in a vehicle, or an office, job sites, and other locations in all types of weather conditions. Bonus Points if you have any of these: 7 years of related experience in the green industry Extensive knowledge and experience of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various lawn care/landscaping practices Familiarity with CRM Software Bi-lingual English and Spanish (Preferred but not required) An Operations Manager, Field Operations must have excellent communication and people skills, with a focus on employee relations, team building and culture. System-based, process-oriented thinking is a key to success.
