REPORTS TO
Operations Manager ROLE Manage the overall chrome plating process, including chemicals, rack design and maintenance, equipment control, process, production, waste water and maintenance.
MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze performance of the plating process and troubleshoot problems associated with it. Manage process to achieve customer and/or company cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Assign jobs to supervisors, team leaders; monitor performance. Train supervisors, team leaders and/or team members, as appropriate. Communicate specifications, blueprints, and job orders to supervisors, team leaders, and/or team members as appropriate. Provide plating information for all new job quotes. Ensure team members follow work instructions. Establish and/or adjust work instructions to meet quality standards or engineering changes. Make recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, cost savings, and quality of work. Suggest changes in work conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of plant floor, department or team members. Analyze and solve problems. Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials. Work with other department managers to coordinate activities. Communicate information between departments and shifts. Report machine and equipment malfunctions or needed changes to equipment to maintenance team. Interface with customers. Assist in troubleshooting and root causing customer issues and rejections. Assist in completion of CAR's and appropriate paperwork for customers. Responsible for review of production and process shift reports. Review of wet lab analysis and quality performance testing. Assist in scrap reduction. Ensure department follows through with material standards. Enforce a safe work environment. Must be actively involved in program launches. Conduct housekeeping for personal work area and shared facility space. Observe and comply with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations associated with this job. Aid in identifying training needs for supervisors, team leaders, and/or team members as appropriate. Attend/participate in all scheduled training and educational programs identified for this position
SUPERVISORY
Interview candidates for positions in Plating Department. Train, plan, assign and direct work. Directly supervise subordinates. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as applicable laws. Assist/conduct appraisal of employee performance. Address complaints and resolve problems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is moderately noisy; frequently same as outside weather conditions; wet and/or humid conditions; frequently work in high places; and exposure to airborne particles and fumes. Also, will be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and proximity to moving parts, and exposure to electrical shock.
