Immediately Job Description The Public Schools of Brookline (PSB) serves over 7,500 students in Kindergarten to grade 12. We operate eight elementary (K-8) schools and one high school in the Town of Brookline. PSB is seeking committed professionals to contribute to our mission to ensure that every student develops the skills and knowledge to pursue a productive and fulfilling life, to participate thoughtfully in a democracy, and succeed in a diverse and evolving global society.
REPORTS:
K-12 Coordinator of Wellness Education
POSITION OVERVIEW
Extramural Coordinator will oversee all district programming for extramural sports at the K-8 schools. The coordinator will act as a liaison between building coordinators, the athletic department and building administrators.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and distribute schedules for all district extramural seasons Assist Principals with hiring building coordinators and coaches. Communicate and collaborate with the building coordinator at each school regarding any district-wide programming and scheduling Communicate with students and families regarding any program changes Work with all building coordinators to ensure safe and appropriate extramural sports programming at their schools Implement coaching education and ensure coaches are prepared for their activities Schedule buses, facilities, and secure permits necessary for meets and competitions Plan and implement any extramural tournaments and games Assign building coordinators to supervise end-of-season tournaments Update and distribute the rules for the different sports Schedule and track payment for all officials and coaches Manage awards and certificates as needed Ensure equipment and facilities are ready for programming Support school building coordinators with problem-solving throughout the year Collaborate with Principals, Building Coordinators, and Coaches to implement effective programming and make decisions regarding eligibility. Distribute and collect all forms related to registrations and eligibility (Arbiter, concussion, hazing, bullying, and fees) Troubleshoot discipline issues and assist in resolving conflict. Create and contribute to media, pictures, results, events, and other supportive communication.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be current UNIT A member
Terms:
The Public Schools of Brookline is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their teaching or practice to the diversity and excellence of the PSB community. All candidates must receive A PSB suitability determination of any criminal history background, including fingerprinting and CORI. Current authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
