Full-Time Production and Operations Administrator Description:

The Center for Arts at the Armory is seeking to build our team with the addition of a full-time, salaried position of Production and Operations Administrator, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. An overview of the job responsibilities are provided below. Arts at the Armory is a community arts and cultural center in Somerville, MA that has been operating since 2009 in the historic Armory building. The mission of Arts at the Armory is to provide free and affordably-priced space for arts, cultural and community events and programming, and thereby bring diverse audiences together, enrich and transform lives, and promote the creative economy. Each year, Arts at the Armory hosts 750+ events in the Armory Performance Hall and Cafe in disciplines including music, dance, theater, literary arts, visual arts, film, circus, comedy and more

Production Related:

Facilitate all production advances for Performance Hall and Mezzanine Events Coordinate with clients to ensure that the advances are timely and accurate Work with Operations Manager to facilitate needs related to events Communicate with team to ensure that all parties have accurate details Lead weekly production meetings Assist COO in scheduling all freelance tech staff Overseeing maintenance and inventory of technical equipment

Operations Related:

Assist Operations Manager with scheduling all event staff Organizing and maintaining all employee certifications and trainings Assist in developing and implementing procedures and protocols for tech and event staff Ensure that communication is effective and streamlined for maximum efficiency and transparency with staff.

Bar Manager:

Assume the role of Bar Manager and manage and oversee all operations of performance hall bar and make recommendations to supervisors Maintain the cleanliness and operations of bar areas (main floor and mezzanine) Updating inventory and ordering product for bar (beer, wine, snacks, cups, napkins, etc) in a timely and professional manner Must be on-site to receive scheduled deliveries and inspect product Ensure that all shift reports are accurate and address inaccuracies with bar staff Hiring and training new bar staff Communicate and be available to all bar staff for any questions and concerns and ensure that the bar staff has accurate information Establishing policies and procedures for staff Cleaning and maintaining the beer refrigerators on both levels Maintaining the security of product in the space Initiating the creation of new product Order and track any specialty product requests Evaluate the COGS and efficiency of the bar Bar Manager is not eligible to bartend unless there is an emergency that requires coverage. Other duties as required

Excellent customer service skills The ability to multi-task The ability to follow through on all work Excellent leadership and personnel management skills The ability to create and maintain and inclusive and effective environment TIPS certification is mandatory for this position While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl; use hands to operate objects, tools, and/or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; see, talk and/or hear; taste and/or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
