Job Description
About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established ground transportation provider, is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to help lead day-to-day operations at one of their local offices. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing people, and takes pride in running a tight, safe, and reliable operation. This role is on site, site location to be determined based on where candidate resides. Must live within 50 miles of Westminster, MA. About the Role Serve as the primary point of contact for the clients we serve Interview, hire, and train new transportation coordinators/supervisors Prepare monthly work schedules Maintain appropriate staffing levels for drivers and vehicle monitors Ensure all employees maintain proper certifications, training, and licensing Oversee the maintenance function at your office and keep the fleet in a high state of readiness Review and prepare monthly billing Assist with additional tasks or projects as assigned by senior operations leadership About You Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in operations management, business administration, or a related field 5+ years of progressive experience in a fast-paced environment, including management of hourly staff and accountability for operational metrics Proficient with Microsoft Office A good driving record and a genuine interest in supporting the communities you serve Self-motivated with strong initiative and work ethic Comfortable with early-morning hours Strong leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and direct teams effectively Effective customer service and conflict-resolution skills Detail-oriented with a natural inclination toward problem-solving High standard of accuracy and confidentiality Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and risk reduction, with working knowledge of DOT and related regulatory requirements Ability to make sound, timely judgment calls in a fast-paced environment Ability to communicate directly and respectfully, including in difficult conversations Technologically savvy, with the ability to quickly learn and adopt new systems Ability to manage conflict and consistently model respectful, professional behavior If you're a strong operator who wants ownership over a team and a fleet, and you're motivated by work that makes a real difference in your community, we'd love to hear from you.
