Job Description

Chesapeake Minerals LLC is seeking a proactive Operations and Maintenance Coordinator to plan, schedule, document, and manage critical activities at our new quartz minerals processing plant. In this role, you will bridge the gap between plant operations, maintenance, procurement, accounting and customer service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth, specialty business unit of the Stewart Companies. You will play an instrumental role in scaling a niche industrial minerals business serving the consumer electronics, personal care, and automotive markets, while gaining deep exposure to all aspects of quartz production and sales. Essential Functions of an
Operations & Maintenance Coordinator:
Coordinate part purchases between maintenance and procurement teams. Track deliveries, document usage and maintain accurate inventory levels using electronic tracking systems. Log and schedule all planned and unplanned plant inspection and repair activities within electronic tracking systems to minimize downtime. Reconcile, track, and report daily quartz production, customer deliveries, and inventory balances. Serve as the first line of communication for customers. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to order quantity, timing and quality fulfillment. Schedule and track truck and rail movements between customers and third-party haulers and (truck and rail) and ensure the accuracy of related shipping documents and load tracking systems. Manage purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely closing and accurate billing processing.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
3+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics, sales support, operations, or maintenance coordination. Direct experience in industrial minerals, aggregates, mining, or sand and gravel operations is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and practical experience utilizing ERP software. Strong working knowledge of MSHA regulations, specifically regarding dust control and crystalline silica exposure limits. Exceptional communication, adaptability in a startup-style environment, strong time management, detail oriented and a customer-first mindset.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a business or technical field is a plus.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments. The employee will regularly be exposed to dust and airborne particles associated with mineral processing operations and may be required to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and other outdoor conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required
Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; move, open, and handle boxes and inventory; and perform frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking throughout the work area. The employee must be able to safely move around storage and production areas and handle materials as needed. The position may also require the use of a respirator and other required personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary. #YBPjobs
