Job Summary Professional Grounds Services (PGS) is seeking an experienced Director of Operations - Grounds & Snow Services to lead field operations supporting commercial landscape maintenance and snow and ice management services The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing crews, equipment, facilities, service quality, safety, client relationships, and overall operational performance. This position plays a key role in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to client expectations while supporting profitability and client retention. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in the green and/or snow industry who can effectively manage multiple crews, build strong client relationships, monitor operational performance, and maintain high standards for safety and service. What We're Looking For We are looking for a dependable operations leader who enjoys being involved in the field, developing teams, solving problems, and maintaining strong client relationships. The successful candidate will balance people leadership, customer service, safety, equipment management, operational execution, and financial performance . Key Responsibilities Direct and coordinate daily crew schedules for grounds maintenance and snow/ice management operations. Provide leadership, direction, and support to field teams to ensure quality, productivity, safety, and employee engagement. Conduct regular team meetings and communicate operational priorities and expectations. Maintain strong relationships with clients and respond proactively to service needs and concerns. Oversee vendor relationships and coordinate outside services as needed. Manage operations in accordance with established job budgets and profitability goals. Track and maintain daily operational metrics using Aspire . Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, service delivery, and operational efficiency. Oversee maintenance standards for company vehicles, trailers, equipment, and other operational assets. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures across field operations. Monitor work quality and ensure services meet company standards and client expectations. Support seasonal planning and execution, including snow and ice management operations. Assist with staffing, crew deployment, and resource planning based on business and seasonal needs. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience within the landscaping, grounds maintenance, green, and/or snow industry . Demonstrated ability to lead multiple field crews and manage day-to-day operations. Strong client service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing operational budgets and working toward profitability targets. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook . Experience with Aspire management software preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment and adjust priorities based on operational and weather-related needs. Required Licenses & Credentials The position description identifies the following credentials: Valid Michigan Driver's License Michigan Chauffeur's License Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with valid Medical Card Michigan Pesticide Applicator License - Categories 3A, 3B, and 6 Acceptable driving record Ability to successfully complete required drug screening Legal authorization to work in the United States #Grounds1
