Superior Decks and Railings is a leading provider of custom decking and railing solutions throughout the United States. Known for exceptional craftsmanship and a commitment to quality. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a results-driven Director of Operations to optimize and scale our operational capabilities.
Position Summary:
The Director of Operations will play a critical leadership role in overseeing and improving the end-to-end operations of the company, including inventory management, production, inbound and outbound logistics, field installations, demand forecasting, and on-time delivery. This role reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with sales, customer service, and finance teams to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Inventory Management:
Develop and execute data-driven inventory strategies to ensure optimal stock levels, reduce waste, and support uninterrupted production and installation schedules. Implement inventory control systems to improve accuracy and visibility across the supply chain.
End-to-End Production Leadership:
Oversee all facets of production operations, from scheduling to execution, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality at every step. Continuously evaluate processes and technologies to enhance throughput, reduce lead times, and drive cost savings.
Logistics & Freight Optimization:
Manage inbound raw material flow and outbound finished goods with a focus on timeliness, cost control, and vendor performance. Establish strong partnerships with freight carriers and streamline shipping operations to improve delivery speed and reliability.

Lead and support field installation teams to ensure project completion meets timelines, safety standards, and customer expectations. Optimize labor deployment and scheduling to maximize productivity and minimize project delays.

Collaborate with sales and finance to develop accurate short- and long-term demand forecasts. Align operational capacity with projected demand through agile planning and resource management to meet customer requirements without overextending resources.

Own the company's on-time delivery performance, proactively addressing any gaps in the supply chain or production timeline. Implement real-time tracking systems and establish KPIs to continuously monitor and improve delivery success rates.

Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all operational touchpoints using lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Identify root causes of inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions to drive operational excellence.

Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing operations team. Provide clear direction, foster accountability, and encourage professional growth to build a culture of excellence and ownership across all departments.

Generate actionable reports and dashboards to provide executive leadership with clear visibility into operational performance, risks, and opportunities. Leverage insights to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field (Master's preferred). 7+ years of operations or production management experience, ideally in a construction, manufacturing, or logistics-heavy environment. Proven experience in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration. Strong analytical and planning skills with a data-driven mindset. Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory/production planning tools. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Experience in construction or custom-building materials industry is a plus.

From $145,000.00 per year
