Job Description

Operations Manager Liberty Waste Solutions is seeking a dynamic, safety-first Operations Manager to lead, coach, and develop our front-line team. In this role, you will act as a pivotal second-level manager, overseeing 45 to 60 drivers and helpers to ensure operational excellence and an unyielding commitment to safety. If you are a hands-on leader who thrives on building strong relationships and spends 50% of your day in the field working side-by-side with your team, we want you on our side! ️
Schedule & Environment Shift Start:
Typically begins between 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM .
Work Setting:
A dynamic mix of an office environment and active field operation.
Key Responsibilities People Development:
Lead the daily onboarding, coaching, and mentoring of new drivers, helpers, and dispatchers. Provide feedback to support their career goals.
Field Leadership:
Spend half your day in the field with front-line employees and visiting customer sites to evaluate safety and resolve service challenges. You will work closely with your supervisory staff to ensure all goals are met, as well as meeting customer expectations of their waste management needs.
Safety & Compliance:
Champion paramount safety practices. Conduct Root Cause Investigations for injuries or incidents, executing consistent discipline and retraining when necessary.
Daily Auditing:
Maintain regulatory compliance by reviewing Department of Transportation (DOT) records, Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), time and attendance, and missed pickup work orders / issues.
Qualifications Required Education:
High School Diploma (accredited) or equivalent.
Experience:
Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Credentials:
Valid Driver's License upon hire.
Eligibility:
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the country of employment. Preferred Prior experience in the waste management industry. Physical Requirements Ability to routinely switch between a standard office environment (using computers, phones, and copiers) and a field environment.
