ProGro Partners is seeking a motivated and dynamic District Manager to oversee a team of Area Managers responsible for inventory fulfillment and merchandising of live goods within Walmart garden center departments . In this role, you will serve as the critical link between corporate strategy and in-store execution—driving results through leadership, accountability, and relationship-building.

Territory:

Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding areas

Travel:

Regular local travel required Key Responsibilities Lead, develop, and manage Area Managers across multiple retail locations Recruit, hire, and train team members, including seasonal staff as needed Support stores with product delivery coordination and inventory flow Oversee merchandising, inventory setup, and replenishment to drive sell-through Monitor and manage labor hours and adhere to assigned labor budgets Analyze Excel reports and financial data to ensure operational efficiency and budget compliance Provide hands-on support as needed (truck unloading, stocking, merchandising) Build and maintain strong relationships with Walmart store management and internal teams Ensure accuracy in inventory counts and adherence to quality standards Utilize company technology, apps, and communication tools daily Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Valid driver's license with clean driving record required (MVR approval required) Experience in retail, merchandising, or wholesale distribution preferred Previous supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of plant and flower care strongly preferred Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills Proven ability to manage budgets and make data-driven decisions Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency Ability to safely operate equipment such as a pallet jack Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift/carry 5-20 lbs frequently and repetitively while merchandising and performing plant care Ability to lift up to 15 lbs overhead while stocking and merchandising Occasional team lift up to 50 lbs (trees/shrubs) Frequent pushing and pulling of large rolling racks (up to 750 lbs loaded ) Ability to stand and walk for extended periods ( up to 90% of shift ) Frequent crouching, stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching Ability to work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) year-round Work schedules vary seasonally and may include extended shifts (up to 12-14 hours) Must be available to work weekends and holidays Benefits Competitive compensation Mileage reimbursement Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Cell phone provided Employee product discounts Opportunities for career advancement
