Job Description

Director of Operations at Pulse Trading Cards Director of Operations at Pulse Trading Cards in Spring Lake, New Jersey Posted in about 7 hours ago.

Type:

full-time Pulse Trading Cards is a fast-growing trading card company creating premium collectible products across sports, entertainment, and culture. We work with athletes, licensors, retailers, manufacturers, distributors, and logistics partners around the world to bring differentiated trading card products to market. As Pulse continues to scale across hobby, direct-to-consumer, and major retail channels, we are looking for a Director of Operations to build and manage the operational infrastructure required to support that growth. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who can operate comfortably in a fast-moving environment, solve problems in real time, and bring greater structure, visibility, and accountability to a complex supply chain. What You'll Own The Director of Operations will oversee the end-to-end operational execution of Pulse products, from production planning through final delivery. Production and Supply Chain Manage production timelines across multiple trading card releases and product formats. Coordinate with domestic and international manufacturers, packaging vendors, print partners, and other suppliers. Translate product launch schedules into detailed production plans, deadlines, and operational requirements. Monitor raw materials, packaging components, finished goods, and other production inputs to ensure availability against schedule. Identify production risks early and drive solutions to keep launches on track. Establish and manage vendor performance standards around quality, cost, timing, and communication. Logistics and Fulfillment Manage inbound and outbound freight, including international shipments, ocean and air freight, customs coordination, and domestic transportation. Coordinate deliveries into warehouses, distributors, retailers, and other fulfillment partners. Oversee warehouse inventory movements and ensure accurate receiving, storage, allocation, and shipment of finished goods. Manage operational execution for large retail programs and customer-specific shipping requirements. Troubleshoot freight, warehouse, inventory, and fulfillment issues quickly when problems arise. Inventory and Planning Maintain clear visibility into inventory across finished goods, components, and work-in-process. Develop forecasting and inventory planning processes to support product launches and customer orders. Work closely with Finance to ensure operational inventory records align with accounting records. Help establish processes for purchase orders, inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and inventory reporting. Balance inventory availability against working capital and obsolescence risk. Process and Systems Build scalable operating processes as the company grows. Develop dashboards, reporting, and KPIs covering production status, inventory, freight, vendor performance, and fulfillment. Improve documentation and operating procedures across the supply chain. Identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual workflows. Build systems that create accountability while preserving the speed and flexibility of an entrepreneurial organization. Cross-Functional Execution Partner closely with Product, Sales, Finance, Creative, and Executive Leadership. Ensure that commercial commitments to retailers, distributors, and other customers are operationally achievable. Translate changing business priorities into clear operational plans. Serve as a central point of coordination across internal teams and external partners. Communicate risks, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to senior leadership. What We're Looking For 10+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or a related field. Experience managing complex physical products with multiple vendors, components, and production timelines. Strong understanding of inventory management, freight, warehousing, and fulfillment. Experience working with overseas manufacturers or international supply chains strongly preferred. Experience supporting major retailers or large wholesale customers is a plus. Strong project-management skills with the ability to manage many concurrent priorities. Highly organized and detail-oriented, but able to operate at a strategic level when needed. Strong analytical skills and comfort working with operational and financial data. Ability to build processes from scratch rather than simply operate within established systems. Excellent communication skills and a high level of ownership. Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where priorities can change quickly and problems often need to be solved without a playbook. The Right Candidate The right candidate is someone who sees an operational problem and takes ownership of solving it. You should be equally comfortable reviewing a production schedule, calling a freight provider about a delayed shipment, reconciling inventory with a warehouse, negotiating with a vendor, and presenting an operational update to senior leadership. Pulse is growing quickly, and this role will have significant responsibility for building the operating foundation that allows the company to continue scaling. Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000-$140,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The position is also eligible for company-sponsored benefits and other compensation programs, as applicable. Why Pulse Pulse is building a new kind of trading card company at a time when the collectibles industry is undergoing significant growth and change. You will join a small, entrepreneurial team with the opportunity to have a direct impact on how the company operates and scales. This is a role with real ownership, broad exposure across the business, and the opportunity to help build the operational infrastructure of a rapidly growing consumer products company.
