• Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist? This position will be responsible for managing the supply and operations of the inmate commissary and canteen. How does it get done? The incumbent will be responsible for purchasing products, managing inventory, handling sales transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of commissary within facilities. Who are the customers? The Commissary Manager will work with suppliers of commissary products, Correctional Facility Business Offices within the State of NM, inmates and their families. Ideal Candidate The Commissary Manager will work with suppliers of commissary products, Correctional Facility Business Offices within the State of NM, inmates and their families. Minimum Qualification Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience operating within parameters and guidelines in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Pre-employment background check is required and conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates.
