Up to $60,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications Position Overview Skyline Moving Service is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to lead our daily moving, storage, warehouse, and field operations. This position is responsible for ensuring jobs are properly staffed, crews are prepared, trucks and equipment are ready, and operational issues are resolved quickly. The Operations Manager will supervise field employees, coordinate closely with the office and sales teams, and maintain high standards for safety, service, accountability, and efficiency. This is not a desk-only position. The manager will work in the office, warehouse, and field as operational needs require. Key Responsibilities Review upcoming jobs for operational accuracy and readiness. Schedule and assign crews, trucks, equipment, and job start times. Publish daily assignments and clearly communicate expectations to field employees. Monitor staffing levels and resolve call-offs and coverage shortages. Support crews throughout the workday and address operational or customer-service concerns. Lead employee orientations, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations. Enforce company policies, safety procedures, service standards, and performance expectations. Conduct field spot checks and provide employees with timely feedback. Oversee fleet readiness, equipment maintenance, warehouse organization, and material inventory. Coordinate storage intake, inventory pulls, pallet preparation, and carrier pickups. Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements to staffing, productivity, communication, and service quality. Develop and maintain practical operations procedures. Participate in weekly leadership meetings. Assist with field operations during significant staffing emergencies when necessary. Qualifications Previous operations or supervisory experience in moving, transportation, delivery, restoration, warehousing, logistics, or another field-service environment. Demonstrated experience supervising field employees and managing daily schedules. Strong planning, dispatching, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced and changing environment. Professional communication and leadership skills. Ability to establish expectations, coach employees, and address performance concerns. Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through. Comfortable using scheduling, CRM, inventory, and general office software. Ability to work in office, warehouse, and field environments. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record when operating company vehicles. Ability to operate a forklift or complete required forklift training. Availability for early morning start times based on the daily move schedule. Moving and storage industry experience is strongly preferred. Applicants with relevant management experience in related field-service industries will also be considered.
