Role:
Martin Family Wineries & Distilleries is looking for a passionate and personable Tasting Room Associate to join our team in Seneca Falls, NY. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your love of wine and spirits with guests while representing a beloved family-owned brand. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop the tasting room team to deliver outstanding customer service. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate tasting room staff. Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture. Ensure every guest enjoys a welcoming, engaging, and memorable winery experience. Oversee daily tasting room operations, including opening, closing, cash handling, inventory, and facility presentation. Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals. Promote the wine Rewards membership program, retail merchandise, and special promotions. Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure the tasting room is clean, organized, and inviting. Coordinate with the winemaking, marketing, events, and hospitality teams to execute winery events and seasonal experiences. Monitor inventory levels and place orders for wine, retail merchandise, and operating supplies. Ensure compliance with all New York State alcohol regulations, food safety standards, and company policies. Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly. Prepare reports on sales, staffing, scheduling, inventory, and operational performance. Qualifications 3-5 years of hospitality, retail, winery, or restaurant management experience. Previous leadership and team management experience required. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to motivate teams and achieve sales goals. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and Google Suite. Wine knowledge or a willingness to develop expertise through ongoing education. Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and during peak tourism seasons. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Requirements:
Prior experience in hospitality, wine service, or tasting room environments preferred Must be 21 years of age or older Strong communication skills and a warm, outgoing personality Knowledge of wine and spirits production, varietals, and tasting techniques is a plus Retail and merchandise experience Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal hours Reliable, punctual, and a true team player
