The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the plant. This role ensures production efficiency, quality compliance, cost control, and on-time delivery while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate has strong experience in automotive manufacturing, lean operations, and team leadership within a small-to-mid-sized production environment. Production & Operations Management Oversee daily manufacturing operations including machining, inspection, and shipping. Maintains daily production scheduling Supervise maintenance department and resolve equipment/machining issues Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery timelines. Monitor KPIs such as throughput, scrap rate, OEE, and on-time delivery. Optimize workflow, labor utilization, and equipment efficiency. Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards Quality & Compliance Ensure products meet customer specifications and automotive quality standards. Address and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner Work closely with Quality team on audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions Maintain documentation and traceability requirements Team Leadership Supervise production and shipping supervisors, and all union employees. Hire, train, and develop team members. Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork. Inventory & Supply Chain Manage raw material inventory Oversee vendor performance and material availability. Ensure proper inventory controls and minimize excess stock. Maintenance & Equipment Coordinate preventive maintenance programs. Ensure machinery uptime and minimize downtime. Evaluate capital equipment needs and recommend investments. Safety Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations. Promote a strong safety culture and conduct regular safety training. Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures.
