Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Position Summary The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all post-harvest operations from harvest through finished goods inventory. This position ensures the efficient movement of product through every stage of production, including harvest coordination, drying, curing, trimming, processing, packaging, labeling, inventory, and product release. The Director of Operations develops production schedules, coordinates labor resources, maintains inventory accuracy, ensures compliance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements, and drives operational efficiency. This position works closely with the Cultivation Manager, Sales Manager, Compliance, and Finance to ensure products are available to meet customer demand while maintaining the highest quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Operations Oversee all post-harvest operations from harvest through finished goods inventory. Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Coordinate workflow between cultivation, processing, packaging, and inventory. Monitor production capacity and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency. Ensure products move through each production stage with minimal delays. Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements. Maintain production KPIs and operational reporting. Workforce Coordination Schedule and coordinate contract crews for: Forecast labor requirements based on harvest schedules and sales demand. Coordinate contractor onboarding and daily work assignments. Ensure contractors understand company SOPs, safety requirements, and quality expectations while on-site. Monitor contractor productivity and quality. Maintain adequate staffing levels to support production goals. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory throughout all production stages. Ensure all inventory transfers are completed accurately. Reconcile physical inventory with METRC and Distru. Conduct routine inventory audits and cycle counts. Minimize product loss and waste. Coordinate finished goods transfers into inventory available for sale. Compliance & Quality Ensure compliance with all OMMA regulations and METRC requirements. Verify production records are complete and accurate. Ensure SOPs are followed throughout all production processes. Coordinate product testing and release. Prepare for internal and regulatory inspections. Maintain quality standards throughout production. Operational Leadership Develop and monitor production KPIs. Improve labor utilization and operational efficiency. Manage departmental budgets and production costs. Coordinate equipment maintenance and operational readiness. Evaluate production workflows and recommend improvements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives. Cross-Department Collaboration Coordinate harvest schedules with the Cultivation Manager. Work with Sales to prioritize packaging and inventory needs. Collaborate with Compliance regarding regulatory updates. Work with Finance regarding inventory valuation and production reporting. Communicate production status to executive leadership. Daily Responsibilities Review harvest schedule. Schedule harvest crews. Schedule trimming crews. Schedule packaging crews. Monitor drying and curing room capacity. Review production progress. Adjust labor assignments as necessary. Verify inventory transfers. Review METRC and Distru inventory accuracy. Conduct production meetings. Resolve operational issues. Ensure production goals are met. Qualifications Required Minimum five years of operations management experience. Experience managing production schedules and workflow. Strong inventory management experience. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management software. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Cannabis industry experience. Knowledge of OMMA regulations. Experience using METRC. Experience using Distru or similar ERP software. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
