Job Description
We have partnered with a growing manufacturer on their search for a Manager of Operations who can oversee and optimize warehouse operations while driving efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement. The Manager of Operations will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily business operations within the warehouse and support compliance functions, team leadership, crisis management, customer service, and strategic planning. In this Manager of Operations role, you will have control over the inventory/safety/compliance, performance reporting, developing operational goals and budgets, maintaining positive vendor relationships, ensuring timely scheduling, developing and creating process improvement procedures, and reporting procedures and operations of the physical infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to create a plan to increase company revenue and proper operational controls. Major Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse personnel to achieve operational goals while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency, quality, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and applicable industry requirements.
- Collaborate with supply chain, purchasing, production, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operational flow.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational best practices to reduce costs and increase productivity.
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and effective inventory management procedures.
- Manage warehouse staffing, scheduling, and labor utilization to meet business demands.
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports to support business decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support system enhancements and process automation efforts as needed. The ideal Manager of Operations will have a Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain or similar. Other requirements for the Manager of Operations role include and are not limited to:
- 5+ years experience managing warehouse operations
- Food manufacturing, food distribution, or other food industry experience is highly preferred
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement certifications (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) are a significant plus
- Any experience with MS Dynamics is a plus
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, and process optimization
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a hands-on management style.
