Job Description

Lead the people, processes, and performance behind our parts operation. STS Diesel is looking to expand and implement a Parts Operations Manager to lead the internal operations of our growing parts department. This is not a traditional parts-counter or sales position. You will not spend your day answering routine customer calls or taking parts orders. Your focus will be on the people, processes, warehouse flow, logistics, accountability, and systems that allow the department to operate efficiently. We are looking for someone who can step into a busy operation, identify where work is falling through the cracks, create practical solutions, and follow improvements through to completion. What You'll Do
  • Provide daily leadership and accountability for parts counter, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and logistics functions.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, priorities, and performance expectations for team members.
  • Develop and maintain practical SOPs for receiving, stocking, picking, shipping, special orders, returns, warranties, cores, freight claims, and cycle counts.
  • Improve warehouse layout, bin-location accuracy, material flow, cleanliness, safety, and space utilization.
  • Help improve receiving time, picking accuracy, shipping accuracy, and delivery coordination.
  • Build organized systems for cores, warranty material, returns, special orders, and high-value inventory.
  • Work closely with inventory and purchasing personnel to improve stocking practices, inventory accuracy, turns, aging, and excess inventory.
  • Monitor pricing discipline, gross margin performance, freight recovery, and other areas where profitability can be improved.
  • Coordinate with service, outside sales, accounting, manufacturing, and management to solve recurring operational problems.
  • Establish and track meaningful performance measures and report results to management. What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience leading people and improving operations in parts, warehousing, distribution, logistics, service, or a related environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing follow-through.
  • Experience creating structure, documenting procedures, and holding people accountable.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, warehouse flow, shipping, receiving, and returns.
  • Ability to use operational and financial information to make practical decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • High level of ownership, integrity, urgency, and attention to detail.
Heavy-duty truck, diesel, automotive, equipment, or industrial parts experience is preferred, but strong operations leadership experience is equally important. What This Role Is Really About We are not looking for someone to simply maintain the status quo. We are looking for a leader who can help us build a more organized, accurate, accountable, and scalable parts operation. You will have the opportunity to recommend and implement improvements involving procedures, warehouse layout, training, staffing, technology, logistics, and performance tracking. The goal is to build systems that work consistently without requiring constant involvement from ownership. What Success Looks Like
  • Employees understand their responsibilities and priorities.
  • Inventory and warehouse locations are accurate and organized.
  • Orders, returns, cores, and warranties move through the system efficiently.
  • Recurring problems are identified and corrected at the source.
  • The department operates with better accuracy, accountability, and profitability.
  • Management has clear visibility into department performance.
