Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Operations manager to carry financial and business functions of the Research Institute for Waldorf Education (RIWE) dba Waldorf Publications. Working for the mission-based, Waldorf education-oriented meaningful institute dedicated to a unique and future-bearing approach to child-development and education. Remote work with periodic participation in on site staff meetings and flexible hours. This is a new position designed to build operational capacity and help strengthen RIWE for expansion of plans for expanding the reach of its many rich resources. A bout the Role The Operations Manager oversees the financial and administrative operations of RIWE. This role ensures the organization runs smoothly, remains compliant, and maintains strong financial and operational systems. Position Summary The Operations Manager manages payroll coordination, financial administration, banking, insurance, and compliance processes. This role works closely with leadership and external accounting partners to ensure accurate financial records and reliable reporting. This role also works closely with staff and Administrative Coordinator to ensure support, timelines, and accuracy. The position reports to the Director of Publications and Development, and for some aspects of the work to the Executive Director. Potential Qualifications
  • 5 to 10 years of operations, finance administration, nonprofit administration, or business operations experience
  • Experience coordinating payroll and financial records
  • Strong financial organization and reporting skills
  • Some knowledge of Waldorf education Preferred
  • Experience with nonprofit financial management
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
  • Experience supporting board reporting or organizational compliance Work Structure
  • Part time role; approximately 10-20 hours per week
  • Mostly remote with periodic coordination with staff in Hudson NY Flexible schedule with consistent weekly availability
Pay:
$38.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 12.0 - 20.0 per week
