SR Director of Operations

Job Description

Director of Operations Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a leading automotive manufacturing company in the Spartanburg, SC area, is seeking a Director of Operations to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across North American manufacturing operations! This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced operations leader with a strong background in manufacturing, lean operations, financial performance, quality, safety, and talent development.
Director of Operations Job Summary:
    Pay:
    $123,000-$165,000 annually
    • Provide leadership and strategic direction for Operations across North America
    • Deliver overall financial and P&L commitments for North American Operations
    • Develop and implement a lean operating culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence
    • Ensure manufacturing operations meet customer production, quality, and performance requirements
    • Lead and support new program launches and ongoing operational improvement initiatives
    • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure Team Members follow established safety procedures and expectations
    • Ensure quality policies, procedures, and standard work processes are consistently followed
    • Evaluate complex business challenges and direct the development of innovative solutions
    • Develop talent and strengthen the Operations team to support future succession planning
    • Lead strategic planning, project management, and organizational development initiatives
    • Collaborate with leadership teams and manufacturing facilities to achieve business objectives
    Director of Operations Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred
    • 7+ years of prior management experience required
    • Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing environment is required
    • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
    • Experience with financial performance and P&L responsibility
    • Strong strategic planning, project management, and organizational development skills
    • Ability to analyze complex information and communicate it effectively to others
    • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
    • Strong ability to influence organizations and drive operational change
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Willingness and ability to travel to manufacturing facilities and customer locations as needed
    • Must be comfortable working in both a professional office environment and on the manufacturing floor
