• $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year Build the roads, water lines and bridges North Texas runs on. DDM Construction is a family-owned heavy civil contractor with 30 years of expertise in the heart of Texas. We self-perform concrete paving, underground utilities, earthwork, bridges and wall structures on municipal, county, state and private infrastructure projects across North Texas — and we have grown over 25% a year for the last couple of years. At DDM, we build more than just roads; we build lasting trust through our commitment to quality and client satisfaction, and lasting impact in the communities we serve. We are looking for a Paving Operations Manager to run all of our concrete work end to end — paving crews, structures and flatwork, the slipform spread, and the batch plants that feed all of it. This role reports to the Director of Operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Run daily concrete operations across every active job — set the plan for crews, equipment and placements, and keep it moving. Lead the concrete organization — provide direction to superintendents, foremen and leadmen, set clear expectations, and hold the line on them. Own our concrete batch plants outright — plant crew and staffing, mix designs and submittals, aggregate and cement supply, QC and testing, plant maintenance and calibration, and plant safety and environmental compliance. No crew waits on concrete. Cover the full concrete scope — mainline and intersection paving, bridge decks, walls and structures, and flatwork, each planned and crewed to its own demands. Plan and sequence large placements — coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents so paving, subgrade, utilities and traffic control line up. Drive production — track daily cost-code performance against the estimate, find the constraint, and fix it. Own quality — placement, finishing, curing, smoothness, joints and dowel work meet spec the first time, with minimal rework and clean inspections. Keep the fleet productive — coordinate slipform pavers, placer/trimmers, bridge deck equipment and support fleet across jobs, and work with the shop on maintenance and downtime. Lead on safety — company safety programs, OSHA compliance, JHAs, and crew participation in every one of them. Control cost — monitor unit costs, labor and equipment hours, and concrete cost per yard, and support cost-control initiatives across the operation. Develop people — mentor superintendents and foremen and build the bench for the next set of crews.

WHAT YOU BRING

Minimum 10 years in concrete construction operations, including hands-on concrete paving. Minimum 5 years supervising or managing field operations — superintendents, foremen and crews.

Working knowledge of slipform paving:

stringline setup, placer/trimmer operation, finishing, curing, joints and dowels. Experience with structural concrete and flatwork — formwork, bridge decks, walls, and finishing. Batch plant knowledge — mix designs, plant production and QC and testing against DOT and municipal specifications. Proven ability to run multiple jobs and crews at once, and to read production numbers and act on them. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. WHY DDM You run the whole operation. Every paving crew, the structures crew, the plant crew, GOMACO slipform pavers and placer/trimmers, and our own batch plants — one operation under you, not a slice of someone else's. We self-perform everything. Paving, utilities, earthwork, bridges and structures are all in-house, so schedule and production are ours to control. Real numbers, not guesses. Daily cost-code tracking, GPS equipment hours, and a full historical cost database mean you manage from actual production. Stability and room to grow. 30 years in business, 200+ employees, a company-owned fleet, a large bonding capacity, and growth over 25% a year. Work close to home. Every job is in DFW — no travel assignments, no living out of a hotel. Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses. Health, dental and vision insurance. Paid time off and paid holidays. Professional development and continuing education support.

SCHEDULE

Monday to Friday, full-time, based in Lake Dallas, TX with daily presence on active North Texas jobsites. Early starts and occasional night or weekend placements as the work demands. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
