This role focuses washing, chopping, portioning, and basic cooking tasks — to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. Responsibilities Wash, peel, cut, and portion vegetables, fruits, and proteins according to instructions Prepare basic items such as salads, dressings, sauces, and stocks under the direction of the cook or kitchen supervisor Operate kitchen equipment safely (slicers, mixers, knives, ovens) Follow all food safety, sanitation, and Texas Food Establishment Rules guidelines Perform basic cleaning duties, including dishwashing and end-of-shift kitchen cleanup. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial cooking environment Familiarity with basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently when needed Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire) Dependable, punctual, and collaborative team member Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and some holidays.
