About The Company:

A growing private transportation and charter services organization is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help oversee daily operations and support continued expansion. This is an opportunity to join an organization that is building greater structure and consistency as it scales. The ideal candidate will enjoy a hands-on leadership environment and be comfortable balancing employee management, operational execution, problem-solving, and process improvement. The Operations Manager will play a key role in coordinating transportation operations, leading frontline teams, and improving processes that support safe, reliable, and efficient service. This position requires a proactive leader who can work effectively in a fast-moving environment and respond quickly when operational challenges arise.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily transportation activities to ensure dependable, safe, and efficient service. Supervise dispatch, field operations, and supervisory personnel while maintaining clear expectations and accountability. Create and improve operating procedures designed to increase consistency and support future growth. Monitor service activity and take ownership of issues involving schedules, staffing, disruptions, or other operational concerns. Coach employees and provide ongoing feedback, development, and performance guidance. Address employee performance concerns while helping team members strengthen their skills and capabilities. Work closely with senior leadership to assess results, identify challenges, and implement operational improvements. Review operational metrics and prepare reports and updates for management. Help ensure adherence to applicable transportation regulations, safety requirements, and company procedures. Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, safety, and administrative functions to maintain smooth operations. Troubleshoot time-sensitive operational issues and coordinate appropriate solutions.

Qualifications:

Previous management experience in transportation, logistics, fleet operations, charter services, or a related field. Experience leading supervisors, dispatchers, field personnel, or other operational teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach employees and establish accountability. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change quickly. Demonstrated problem-solving and process improvement capabilities. Familiarity with transportation, dispatch, scheduling, workforce management, or similar software systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of DOT and/or FMCSA regulations is preferred.

Additional Details:

This is a hands-on operations leadership position with significant involvement in day-to-day activities. Flexibility is required for occasional early-morning starts, including shifts beginning around 3:00 AM. Evening and weekend availability may occasionally be necessary based on service requirements. The role works closely with dispatch, field operations, and assistant operations leadership. The organization is experiencing substantial growth and is continuing to develop its operational infrastructure.
