POSITION SUMMARY
Supporting Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Membership and Field Services Department and the VFBF affiliated corporations collaboratively, and assisting county Farm Bureaus in meeting their membership, leadership, and advocacy goals while serving as a liaison with the state Farm Bureau. The responsibility includes Membership growth and retention; relationship management; County Farm Bureau (CFB) governance, leadership development and support; member/leader engagement. Assist Assigned County Farm Bureaus in membership acquisition and maintenance. This position covers a VAFB Field District representing the counties of Clarke, Frederick, Loudoun, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, and Warren.PRIMARY DUTIES
- Assist County Farm Bureaus in membership acquisition and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance of the County-State Memorandum of Agreement within the district and to coordinate revisions as necessary.
- Assist County Farm bureaus with implementing policies and programs.
- Collaborate with Field Operations, Sales and local county boards on initiatives to improve county office relationships
- Mediate and resolve disputes between insurance company and county boards in assigned area.
- Regularly attend county board meetings, conferences and conventions.
- Promptly deliver accurate information requests for assistance/member action to county Farm Bureau organizations, leaders & staff.
- Counsel County Farm Bureaus in effective administration and supervise their record keeping system.
- Serve as a Field Representative for VAFB member benefits.
- Provide and/or coordinate training for county leadership and county office staff.
- Coordinate county activities with VFBF affiliated corporations and departments.
- Ensure Operational needs of county offices are met in regards to repairs, equipment, supplies & grounds.
- Assist County Farm Bureaus in planning activities relating to local issues.
- Work closely with the Women's and Young Farmers' committees to support program goals.
- Conduct training to enhance leadership abilities of Farm Bureau volunteers.
- Develop and take action to achieve individual district goals.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Serve on committees as needed. All other duties as assigned by the Director of Field Operations and/or the Director of Member Engagement. Work remotely in a combination of home and county offices. Travel required to meet program needs: Attend monthly county board meetings in each county across assigned field district. Periodic visits to county offices in assigned field district to support county office staff, boards, and activities. Statewide travel outside of field district includes 3-5 days per month at a minimum; occasional out of state travel. Evening, weekend, and overnight events and meetings require ability to work as needed from outside the office throughout the year.MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
College degree or equivalent work experience. Proven experience implementing leadership development, organizational structure maintenance, marketing techniques, and planning strategies.MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS
