Eastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois About the Opportunity Avalign is recruiting an experienced Truckload Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a growing asset-based flatbed fleet. The operation currently runs approximately 80 trucks with planned expansion beyond 100 trucks. This is a hands-on transportation leadership role responsible for dispatch, load planning, driver management, customer service, fleet utilization, compliance, profitability and operational performance. We are specifically seeking candidates with experience managing flatbed, open-deck, specialized or comparable truckload operations within an asset-based carrier. What You'll Do Lead daily operations for an asset-based flatbed fleet Oversee transportation activity from load acceptance through final delivery and customer follow-up Lead, coach and develop dispatch personnel Plan and assign freight based on equipment availability, driver hours, customer needs and profitability Monitor fleet utilization, revenue per truck, empty miles, on-time performance and operating margins Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions Coordinate with drivers regarding dispatch instructions, route changes, equipment issues and load requirements Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements and safety standards Respond to service disruptions, breakdowns, weather delays and customer escalations Partner with maintenance teams to maximize fleet availability Support driver recruiting, onboarding, performance management and retention Review operating performance and implement continuous-improvement initiatives Build strong customer relationships and maintain consistent service execution What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of transportation, trucking, logistics, dispatch or fleet-management experience Previous management experience within an asset-based trucking company Direct experience with flatbed, open-deck, specialized or similar truckload operations Strong dispatch and load-planning knowledge Experience managing fleet utilization, profitability and operational KPIs Working knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service Proven leadership experience managing dispatch teams and professional drivers Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills Experience with transportation management systems and fleet-management technology Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency Ability to work on-site in Caledonia, Wisconsin Preferred Experience managing fleets of 50+ trucks Experience growing transportation operations Samsara experience Knowledge of flatbed load securement and specialized freight Experience with both company drivers and owner-operators Experience managing operating budgets and P&L performance Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field If you know how to keep trucks loaded, drivers productive, customers happy and margins healthy, we want to hear from you
