Policies, Safety Policies and Procedures. Set up and inspect equipment prior to operation. (Preshift) Check all fluids, fuel, engine oil, hydraulic oil etc., tires, steering, brakes etc. Also completes the Daily Work Place Exam. Ensure the customer orders are responded to in a timely, efficient and professional manner. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment handling; confer with supervisor to determine sorting and transfer procedures, arrangement of packages on pallets and destinations of loaded pallets. Manipulate controls/conveyors and adjust equipment speeds/timing and material flow. Observe operations and monitor in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect equipment malfunctions during packaging. Move freight, stock and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles by hand and other equipment. Mark and label containers, container tags, or products using marking tools. Measure, weigh and count products and materials. Examine and inspect containers, materials and products to ensure packing specifications are met. Record product, packaging and order information on specified forms and records. Mechanical - Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs and maintenance. Can anticipate, recognize and respond quickly to unexpected variations. Problem solving skills. Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. Understanding of logistics.
