Job Description
Job Title:
Production Associate - $16-18 This Production Associate role supports warehouse operations in a non-climate-controlled facility in East Moline, IL. You will work across multiple departments, including cell production, saw operation, receiving, shipping, and work orders, with a primary focus on pulling copper tubing and pipe for shipment to major retail customers. You will help ensure that products are correctly prepared, protected, labeled, and packaged for safe and accurate delivery. Responsibilities Work within various warehouse departments, including production cells, saw operation, receiving, shipping, and work orders, as assigned. Pull copper tubing and pipe according to customer orders and production requirements. Move pipe to designated pick locations to support efficient order fulfillment. Pull work orders accurately and in sequence to meet shipping schedules. Bar code and label pipe and related products to ensure correct identification and traceability. Bundle and wrap pipe securely to meet safety and quality standards. Cut pipe according to cut sheets and specifications, using appropriate tools and equipment. Perform scrap segregation and identification to support proper material handling and waste management. Cover wire or pipe with protective tubing before processing for shipment to ensure product integrity. Box, package, and secure products so they are safe and stable for transport. Wrap finished product for shipment using appropriate materials and methods. Unload inbound trucks when necessary, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently. Load outbound shipments accurately, following shipping documentation and instructions. Use hand tools and basic machinery as needed to complete daily tasks. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards. Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines while working in a warehouse environment. Essential Skills Experience in production or general labor in a warehouse or industrial environment. Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively. Experience with machine operating tasks related to cutting, wrapping, or processing materials. Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading trucks. Ability to perform inventory-related tasks, including pulling orders and handling materials accurately. Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, loading, and unloading pipe and related products. Attention to detail when labeling, bar coding, and packaging products. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including cut sheets and work orders. Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment with varying temperatures. Willingness to work 2nd shift hours from 1:00pm to 9:30pm. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in assembly, labeling, packaging, or similar production roles. Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse setting. Familiarity with using bar code systems and labels for inventory and order processing. Ability to learn multiple roles and cross-train across departments within 1-3 weeks, depending on individual progress. Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting production and shipping deadlines. Comfort working both independently and as part of a production team. Why Work Here? The noise level is usually quiet to moderate but can become loud at times depending on department activities and the use of tools or equipment. You will work 2nd shift hours from 1:00pm to 9:30pm, operating in production, shipping, receiving, and related warehouse areas. The environment is hands-on and fast-paced, with regular use of hand tools, machinery for cutting and wrapping pipe, and material-handling processes for loading and unloading trucks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Moline, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
