Job Description
Manor Hill Brewing Packaging Assistant Schedule:
Full-time, Non exempt Company Overview Located on a 54-acre working farm in Ellicott City, MD, Manor Hill is Howard County's only and Maryland's largest farm brewery. Our brewing team uses high quality ingredients to craft exciting and approachable beers across both new and traditional styles. We are proudly family-owned and operated. Job Summary Manor Hill Brewing is seeking a Packaging Assistant who brings a high level of responsibility and dedication to the position. This full-time position within our production facility will report to the head of packaging to assist with our CODI canning line (including preventative maintenance), kegging operations, and the occasional special bottle projects. As part of a multi-disciplined team, this candidate may also be required to perform additional duties in warehousing and cellaring.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate, troubleshoot, clean and maintain all packaging equipment, as directed by supervisor
- Racking/kegging beer and servicing our keg fleet, including routine repairing, washing, wrapping, and storing
- Maintain an organized, clean, sanitary, and safe working environment through canning/production run
- Maintain warehouse order and cleanliness, ensuring proper product rotation for accurate distribution shipments
- Employ basic cellaring skills involving carbonating and ensuring proper gas and temperature levels for product
- Ensure compliance with operational policies and safety standards to ensure the health and wellness of team members at all times
- Maintain accurate records and logs, and inputs packaging counts into EKOS.
- Work closely with cellar and brewing departments to ensure smooth product flow and the timely completion of the production schedule.
- Provide support to Shipping & Receiving, Maintenance, and Brewing departments as needed
- No weekend and or evening work is required (except for festivals 1-2 X per year)
Job Qualifications:
- 1-2 years in packaging preferred (will train if needed)
- Passion for Craft Beer
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to problem solve
- Demonstrated ability to perform QA/QC measurements to meet specifications
- Good communications skills
- Ability to work in hot/cold and wet environments
- Attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly, safely move 160 pound kegs, and manage a pallet jack
- Forklift certification or experience a plus
