Penmac Staffing is seeking a Picker for a local metal scrap yard in the Springfield area. This position is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsWillingness to perform dirty, physical labor in an industrial environmentStrong work ethic and self-motivationGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to safely follow workplace procedures and safety guidelinesMechanical aptitude is a plusPrevious experience in general labor, recycling, construction, manufacturing, or equipment operation is helpful but not requiredResponsibilitiesAs a Picker, you will assist with daily scrap yard operations and help ensure materials are safely sorted and processed.

Duties include:

Sort and process scrap metal and recyclable materialsCut apart and prepare materials for processingAssist with equipment maintenance and minor repairsOperate machinery and equipment as trainedLearn and operate scales as neededMaintain a clean and organized work areaInteract professionally with customers and the publicPerform additional duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsThis position requires frequent physical activity, including:
