Required Years of Experience 1 year Job Details Packer Company Description Farm to People is an online farmers market grocery delivery service specializing in sustainably-sourced, local, fresh produce and artisanally produced foods. Our customers can subscribe to a series of curated Farm Boxes or choose to shop à la carte. We deliver 7 days per week and are expanding in the NYC market. Our mission is to provide an ethical marketplace where people can know where their food is coming from.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Kitchen Operations Manager Years experience required: A least 1 years experience in a professional kitchen We're seeking a detail-oriented, accurate Packer to join our team. This role is the final quality checkpoint before product leaves the kitchen. You'll take finished items from the Cook team, verifying every detail against spec, pack correctly, account for what's produced, and hand off a clean, accurate count to the Warehouse team. You should be someone who thrives with a list and isn't afraid to speak up when a grain of rice is out of place. You are the last line of defense and know how to make that responsibility sing. Additionally, you will be working as part of a team; how you work with our team will determine the best fit. Responsibilities Your main duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Receive finished items from the Cook team according to the day's production sheet.
Verify each item against spec before packing: weight, consistency, correct label, correct date, correct packaging.
Flag and hold back any item that doesn't meet spec rather than passing it forward. You are the last check before it leaves the kitchen.
Pack all verified items correctly and consistently, per packaging standard.
Accurately account for and record quantities packed against the production sheet.
Hand off completed, accounted-for product to the Warehouse team with a clear, accurate count.
Follow FIFO protocols for all packed items: properly labeled, dated, and rotated.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation throughout the shift.
Communicate shortages, discrepancies, or quality concerns to the Cook team and management immediately.
Complete all opening, mid-shift, and closing duties for your assigned workstation.
Comply with all DOH and internal food safety standards, including temperature logs and sanitation practices.
Immediately report safety hazards or equipment issues.
Any additional duties or special projects as requested by management. About you 1+ years experience in a professional kitchen or warehouse environment
Sharp attention to detail — comfortable being the last line of defense on accuracy
Good basic math skills for accounting and counts
Ability to understand written and spoken English (bilingual English/Spanish a plus)
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for 8+ hours
Strong communication and follow-through with both upstream (Cook) and downstream (Warehouse) teams
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment without letting pace compromise accuracy
Possess a positive and collaborative attitude
