GERBER WOOD PRODUCTS
Production Packaging & Finishing Specialist 1 Gerber Wood Products creates customized wood components such as stair treads, trim, molding, furniture & architectural components for homes and businesses both domestic and global manufacturers and distributors. They also specialize in crafting personalized wood gifts and home decor. Products are built using a variety of equipment such as molders, saws, sanders, finger jointer, glue system, and CNC machines. This family-owned company has a rich, Christian heritage that continues to provide dedicated customer service and an enjoyable, supportive work environment for its employees. Production Packaging & Finishing Specialist 1 is an entry-level position responsible for supporting finishing and packaging operations, preparing and assembling components, performing basic quality checks, and ensuring completed products are properly prepared for shipment or the next stage of production. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow established procedures, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform basic finishing tasks according to job and customer requirements. Package finished products accurately and securely according to job requirements. Prepare and assemble components as required to complete finished products. Inspect finished and packaged products for defects, damage, incorrect components, or other quality concerns. Handle and move products and materials as needed to support finishing and packaging workflow. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all safety procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent experience. Previous experience in finishing, packaging, assembly, manufacturing, or a production environment is preferred. Familiarity with quality standards and production processes is a plus. Forklift certification may be required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality and accuracy. Ability to follow instructions and established finishing and packaging procedures. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively as part of a team. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to identify and report product or packaging quality concerns. Consistently meet established production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Environment and Physical Working Conditions:
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25-50 lbs frequently. Work also requires the ability to constantly climb, reach, pull, stoop, crawl, bend, and perform repetitive motions. Exposure to fumes, odors, and loud noise—must wear safety gear including eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes, and a respirator when necessary. Work indoors in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and moisture fluctuations.
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
